  The Carnegie Library in Chickasha

The Chickasha Carnegie Library was built in 1903,and presented an impressive 2 story classical facade, featuring a pair of twinned Corinthian columns, with an architrave and frieze supporting a triangular pediment.

The letter to request the funding of the library was signed by members of the Commercial Club, the Sorosis Club, the Chautauqua Club, the New Century Club, the President of the School Board and the Mayor of the city. In many cases in Oklahoma, and nationally as well, women's organizations were active in the pursuit of Carnegie funding for libraries.
