Woodward Carnegie Library
Among the letters to Carnegie requesting funding for a library at Woodward one finds a note from R. C. Blackmer recommending Woodward as a worthy recipient of a library grant. He states in his letter that the city of Hobart has benefited greatly from their Carnegie Library, and that the city was pleased to aid the other Oklahoma towns of Frederick, Elk City and Vernon, Texas, in their applications for library grants.
The library moved into the Carnegie building in April 1917.
